The Zen Of Self-Discipline

Discipline is often seen as being chained to a task, doing it against your will, but really discipline is freedom. Stephen Covey wrote, “the undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites and passions.”

I’ve missed posting for a few days, and justified it by thinking that I have other things to do, I have nothing to write about, and a slew of other, slightly legitimate, reasons. Basically I didn’t feel like publishing anything.

The goal of being self disciplined is: Think, don’t feel.

    So if you’re anything like me, the causes of this seemingly global financial crisis remained a mystery for quite some time. I had to go to many sources to get a uncomplicated, succinct explanation; financial crisis for dummies.

    Then, after I was mostly understanding what was going on, a friend of mine emailed me this explanation of the crisis. It is lacking in complication and I just wish it had been sent to me sooner. Hopefully this will give you some more understanding of the various issues.

    Ask Yourself 5 Whys And It Will Solve All Your Problems

    All your problems can be solved by simply asking 5 whys. One of the most successful car companies in the world makes it a habit, and you should too.

    If you have a problem, often people try to just solve the issue at hand, rather then digging down and finding the source of the problem. Even when the source is found, often there is a source to that problem deeper still. That is why you must ask “Why?” five times.

    For example, say there is a problem, like the fact that you are sick. By asking “Why?” five times, you will get to the root of the problem and also find the solution.
